The companies in the MetLife, Inc. family (collectively, "MetLife") recognize the importance of protecting all information that you may choose to provide to us. To further this commitment, we have adopted this Pocket Pass Privacy Policy to tell you how we collect, store, and use the information you provide to us in connection with the MetLife Pocket Pass software application (the "App"). Besides this Pocket Pass Privacy Policy, we also have other more general privacy policies that may apply to you as a MetLife consumer or customer. BY INSTALLING, USING, REGISTERING OR OTHERWISE ACCESSING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND GIVE AN EXPLICIT AND INFORMED CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL, USE, REGISTER OR OTHERWISE ACCESS THE APP. What information does this Pocket Pass Privacy Policy cover?

This Pocket Pass Privacy Policy only applies to personal information collected in connection with downloading, registering, or using the App, and does not apply to information collected by MetLife through any other means.

It covers how we collect, use, and share personal information in connection with the App as of the date that this Pocket Pass Privacy Policy is posted.

What types of personal information do we collect about App users?

Personal information is information that identifies you and can be used to contact you directly. Likely situations when you make personal data available to MetLife include but are not limited to: (i) registration of the App or for contests and special events; (ii) accessing services such as social networking sites through the App; (iii) using "tell a friend," "e-mail this page," or other similar features; (iv) requesting technical support; and (v) otherwise through use of the App where personal data are required for use and/or participation.

The types of personal data may vary depending on the type of activity you are engaged in. The personal data MetLife may collect and process include, but are not limited to your name, screen/nick name, third-party service ID, e-mail address, phone number, photo or other image, birthdate, sex, address, friend connections, avatar image, credit card information, shipping information, and location. Your location information is collected only with your permission through use of geolocation services. We use your personal information, including location information, to verify your eligibility for and to enable your participation in the MetLife Central Countdown Card Program (the "Program"). Should you choose not to permit access to your location information, not all App features or Program activities will be available to you. If you win a prize by participation in the Program, we may require additional personal information to verify your identity and eligibility.

Please note that certain features of the App may be able to connect to social networking sites to obtain additional information about you. In such cases, MetLife may be able to collect information from your social networking profile when your social networking site permits it and when you consent to allow your social networking site to make that information available to MetLife. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, profile picture, gender, user ID, e-mail address, your country, your language, your time zone, the organizations and links on your profile page, the names and profile pictures of your social networking site friends, and other information you have included in your social networking site profile. MetLife may associate and/or combine as well as use information collected by MetLife and/or obtained through such social networking sites in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children 13 and under. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with their information, that parent or guardian should contact us at privacy@metlife.com. We will delete any information regarding a child 13 or under within a reasonable time.

If you are under 14 years of age, you are not eligible to use or access the App. MetLife takes children's privacy seriously, and encourages parents and/or guardians to play an active role in their children's online experience at all times.

How is your personal information used and shared?

Whatever the purpose may be, we will only collect information to the extent reasonably necessary to fulfill your requests and our legitimate business objectives. We may also use and disclose your personal information to our affiliates and others for any purpose allowed by law.

Data Retention

We will retain your data for as long as you use the App and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you would like for us to delete the data you have provided or that we have otherwise collected in relation to your downloading, registration, and use of the App, e-mail us at privacy@metlife.com, and we will comply within a reasonable time unless we are legally required to retain the information. Please note that some or all of your personal data may be necessary in order for the App to function properly.

Purchase or Sale of Businesses

From time to time, we may purchase a business or sell one or more of our businesses and your personal information may be transferred as a part of the purchase or sale. If we purchase a business, the personal information received with that business would be treated in accordance with all of our privacy policies, including this Pocket Pass Privacy Policy, if it is practicable and permissible to do so. If we sell a business, we will include provisions in the selling contract requiring the purchaser to treat your personal information in accordance with applicable law. The provisions of this paragraph will also apply if we are sold as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

We may disclose any information as permitted or required by law.

Third Party Terms and Conditions

Please note that your access to and use of the App may be subject to certain third party terms and conditions and privacy policies, including but not limited to application stores, mobile software platforms, on-line gaming platforms, and social networking services. You recognize and agree that MetLife is not liable for any such third party terms and conditions and their use of your personal data. MetLife may in its discretion make available links through advertisements or otherwise enable you to access third party products or services. Please note that while using such products or services, you are using products or services developed and administered by people or companies not affiliated with or controlled by MetLife. MetLife is not responsible for the actions of those people or companies, the content of their products or services, the use of information you provide to them, or any products or services they may offer. The fact that MetLife is linking to those products or services does not constitute our sponsorship of or affiliation with those people or companies.

Please note that certain services available through the App, such as social networking, may use third party services to provide authentication for the services with a social networking ID or account. When you register to join or use the App from a third-party or social networking system, certain personally identifiable user and/or membership data may be transferred automatically to and from MetLife and you hereby consent to the processing, combining, disclosing and retaining of such data in accordance with this Privacy Policy by MetLife.

MetLife follows generally accepted industry standards and maintains reasonable safeguards to attempt to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of the information in MetLife's possession. Only those persons with a need to access your personal data in connection with the fulfillment of their tasks in accordance with the purposes of this Privacy Policy and for the purposes of performing technical maintenance have access to your personal data in MetLife's possession. Personal data collected by MetLife is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. However, no system can be 100% secure and there is the possibility that despite MetLife's reasonable efforts, there could be unauthorized access to your personal data. By using the App, you assume this risk.

Other

Please be aware of the open nature of certain social networking and other open features of the App MetLife may make available to you. You may choose to disclose data about yourself in the course of contributing user-generated content to the App or to a social networking site through the App. Any data that you disclose in any of these fora, blogs, chats or the like is public information, where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy or confidentiality. MetLife is not responsible for any personal data you choose to make public in any of these fora.

What choices do you have about the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information?

We don't share App users' personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

If you signed up to receive newsletters or other e-mail messages from us, you can opt-out any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the message. You may also choose to opt-out from receiving marketing materials from us by making a request at www.metlife.com/optout.

What kinds of security measures do we take to safeguard your personal information?

The security and confidentiality of your information is extremely important to us. For example, the parts of the App that enable or require you to submit personal information online use encryption to protect that information. We also review our security procedures periodically to consider appropriate new technology and updated methods. But, despite our reasonable efforts, no security measure is ever perfect or impenetrable.
